Teaching Methodology
GD Goenka Public School focuses on measurable changes in the learning of students by making it child-centric that leads to the autonomy in learning. Teachers help them to connect with the curricular knowledge in school to wider real-world contexts by making it meaningful to children and that dissuades rote learning by the passive acquisition of facts. It focuses on constructive, experiential, cooperative and collaborative learning, involving the active participation of children. We follow the adage ‘Teach the child not the subject as facts will be soon outdated’. Our methodology is flexible to address the needs of all learners (including special children) and make them reflect on their learning. We consider the capacities and voices of children and let them explore learning from their perspective. It enables children to find answers to critical questions and promote multisensory learning to make learning more joyful, effective and suited to different learning styles of learners. The use of educational technology and ICT technology is incorporated to make learning more engaging and effective. We have made it multidisciplinary as far as possible. Sports and Arts are integrated with learning outcomes in other subjects. Multiple and divergent exposures are also provided to students to enrich their understanding. In addition to the functional perspective of education, GD Goenka Public School caters to the transformative needs of society. Keeping this is mind, learning is based on Life Skills as well as on Ethical Values.
